Chihuahua dies after savagely bashed in burglary attempt

A QUEENSLAND woman is mourning the death of her pet dog, Lucky, who was brutally attacked in an attempted burglary.

Police are hunting burglars who broke into the 50-year-old's home in the Logan suburb of Daisy Hill and assaulted her small chihuahua so badly it had to be put down.

On Monday they appealed to the public for any information about the attack, which happened during a burglary on Saturday, April 18.

Springwood police believe the offenders broke into the Begonia Street home between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Police says that while inside the intruders attacked Lucky, leaving the dog badly disfigured and with a severe brain injury.   Read more at Brisbane Times.
