ELLA Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday were two titans of the jazz world. The Lismore Jazz Club pays homage to their distinctive voices at the Lismore City Bowling Club this Sunday, August 26.

Exquisite singers Sharny Russell and Elizabeth Lord take on the lead roles, backed up by the best in the biz - jazz pianist Steve Russell, bassist Jack Thorncraft and drummer Dave Sanders.

All are renowned musicians in their own right. Together they make a formidable ensemble whose renderings of these great women's work is bound to be an event in itself.

From 2pm, $10 members and students, non-members $15.

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation  Riots of Passage in The Quad  as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
