Chad and the other hillbillies
SLIM Dusty (one of the greatest hat-wearing Australian songsters - who will ever forget his tragic masterpiece The Pub With No Beer?) called him the clown prince of comedy. In reference to his first recording in 1952 he is known as The Sheik of Scrubby Creek. We can call him Chad Morgan, a living legend known for his vaudeville style of comic country and western, his can't-miss-'em teeth, and goofy stage persona.
Chad is performing in two Live in Hillbilly Heaven shows: the first is at the Gollan Hotel in Lismore this Friday, October 5, at 7.30pm (with The Real Gone Hick-Ups, Ian Muir, The Rev Kim McLean); the second is at the Northern Rivers Hotel beer garden this Saturday, October 6, at 1pm (with Lil Fi' & the Candy Apples, Ian Muir, The Pitts Family Circus).
Both these shows are free. Yep, free.
That tall man of words, Jimmy Willing, continues to promote and create a distinctive Northern Rivers entertainment culture. Good on ya, cobber.
