Cassie awarded

Wollongbar TAFE student Cassandra Leckie was recently presented with the Minister's Student Achiever Award at a ceremony at Parliament House in Sydney.

Since 1991 the NSW Minister for Tourism has been rewarding high-achieving students studying tourism. Cassie is studying Certificate II in Tourism and Events at Wollongbar TAFE as part of her Year 12 studies at St John's College, Woodlawn. The awards are presented to young students for their consistent academic achievement, and for demonstrating the capabilities and personal qualities that would contribute to the tourism and hospitality industry in NSW.

The Minister's Student Achiever Awards encourage talented students to progress with a career in tourism.

Each award includes a cash prize for the student.

Head Teacher of Tourism & Hospitality, Mary Allan said the staff and students at Wollongbar TAFE are very proud of Cassie's achievement.
