Casino trades up with TAFE

A new $2.3 million training facility was opened at Casino TAFE on Monday by Page MP Janelle Saffin, who said the facility would improve vocational education and training for students in the Northern Rivers.

Two old building were demolished to make way for the new centre which Ms Saffin said would offer up to 750 students access to industry-standard equipment and facilities.

These six new classrooms and two refurbished workshops give students from the Richmond Valley and Kyogle Shire the real advantage of training with equipment that is being used by industry now,” she said. “Some students come from as far a field as Kempsey and New England for shop fitting and detailed joinery experience. Other improvements include teachers’ offices, an undercover outdoor area for students and a covered walkway.”

The NSW Government contributed more than $470,000 to the project.
