Carnival is highlight for Richmond River High students

IT WAS as if the clouds cleared on cue for Richmond River High School's swimming carnival at Lismore Memorial Baths.

Year 12 student Gina Park-Caesar said that "being my last carnival with my friends makes it special. I've really enjoyed the carnival," she said, "and I know I'll definitely miss it after this.

"One of the many great reasons I go to a great school is the swimming carnival. The spirit unites everyone. This is probably the best one and like every other year, Kewell will take the points. I know I'll miss coming here with my friends and making absolute fools out of ourselves."

But it wasn't all fashion and frivolous folly. In the pool, Hayden Blanksby was serious, smashing five records.
