Car stalled in torrent of water

A MOTORIST has had a lucky escape after his car was hit by the weight of water gushing down Dorrigo Mountain.

SES received an emergency call to say the man's vehicle had stalled underneath Newell Falls on the Waterfall Way on Monday around 8.30pm.

As the rescue was mounted the motorist managed to get his vehicle started and drove to safety.

Authorities have warned people not to take the risk of entering floodwaters.
