Calling all songwriters
Whether you are local, international, professional or amateur, songwriters of all genres, published or unpublished, are encouraged to enter their songs in the Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition.
With the entry deadline of September 30 fast approaching, it's high time to send your original songs in and have the chance to have your songs heard and appraised by industry leaders and be in the running to win an amazing prize package. Prizes to the total of $50,000 include airfares, accommodation, cash, studio time, production time, a live gig at Song Summit 2010 and a classic Les Paul Gibson guitar.
To boost your music career, a songwriting mentorship with iconic US songwriter Paul Williams is on offer. You can also win a producer mentorship at Kensaltown Studios in London with either Martin Terefe (James Morrison) or Sacha Skarbeck (James Blunt).
It costs $50 per song to enter and the winners will be announced on November 30. All proceeds will go to the music therapy charity, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, to support their activities in using music's interactive and participatory nature as an agent for change and healing.
