Call to join Hell on Wheels ride

WHEN Casino man Tony Keogh brought the idea of a mountain bike cycle tour to Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter in 1998 he never thought it would still be going 15 years later.

Not only is the Hell on Wheels Cycle Tour still going, it has raised over $500,000 for the helirescue service.

Tour director Tony is now calling on mountain bike enthusiasts to register for the 2012 Hell on Wheels Cycle Tour.

"Registrations are coming in steadily," Tony said.

"But we can only take 50 riders, so I encourage anyone wanting to do the tour to sign up now.

This year's tour will run from October 6 to 13. Riders will travel through Casino, Toonumbar, Urbenville, Kilarney, Woodenbong and Kyogle before finishing at Lismore.

Tony said Hell on Wheels has a wonderful tradition of camaraderie, and has been hailed as the 'best value for money' mountain bike tour in Australia by numerous biking enthusiasts. Registrations close August 12 through
