'Call Me Maybe' the ARIA top single of 2012

INTERNATIONAL dance music hit Gangnam Style has lost out on the top spot on the Australian music charts.

Carly Rae Jepsen's pop single, Call Me Maybe, has trumped the worldwide sensation, originating from Korea, in the ARIA top 100 singles for 2012.

Gangnam Style came in second place followed by Guy Sebastian's Battle Scars and rapper Flo Rida's Whistle.

Sebastian and hip-hop group Justice Crew were the only Australian artists to make the top 10.
