Byron gets 50 submissions on KFC franchise

BYRON Shire Council received more than 50 submissions on the controversial development application to open a KFC in Byron Bay in the first days of it being on public exhibition.

The DA's public submission period has been extended to February 4, with a copy now available on the council's website.

Mayor and vocal KFC opponent Simon Richardson said he would be at Byron Bay markets on Thursday gathering signatures on a petition opposing KFC in Byron.
