Business mentoring in Byron Bay

ACE Community College and NSW Trade and Investment are running a mentoring program for young business owners in the Northern Rivers.

The 'Young Entrepreneurs Business Mentoring Program' is open to business owners aged 18-35 who have been operating for at least one year and are able to identify a business challenge they need assistance with. The program will focus on business planning, financial management and marketing, both on and offline. Each business will receive five three-hour workshops, 10 hours of mentoring focussing on their individual business needs, plus networking tips and sessions.

"We are really lucky to have this program in the Northern Rivers. Only two programs were given the go-ahead in NSW, this one and another one being run in Sydney," Gillian Jones from ACE Community Colleges said.

The program will take place in Byron Bay, commencing in March 2012. Applications close Friday, February 17.

For further information or enquiries about the program contact Belinda Green at the NSW Deptartment of Trade and Investment on 6622 4011or email

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
