Burglar steals car after breaking into home

POLICE are appealing to the public for information after a Lismore home was broken into on Sunday morning and a car stolen.

The occupants of the house on Orion St told police the break-in occurred between 6am and 8am.

Police said about 8.15 the occupants heard their car start and raced outside to investigate.

They saw the car being reversed out of the driveway and yelled at the driver who stopped and fled the scene.

The man driving was described as being of Aboriginal appearance, with black short scruffy hair, and was wearing a grey singlet and grey shorts.
