Bruce Springsteen talks about his High Hopes

THE Boss Bruce Springsteen has sat down to talk about his upcoming new album High Hopes.

The US rocker said he's always writing and revisiting songs in his spare time.

"I have groups of material I carry around sometimes," he said.

"I'll go over and visit a group of songs that maybe, sometimes, one I keep going back to is 20 years old.

"Born in the USA was thrown off Nebraska (1982 album), you know?"

High Hopes features a collection of songs that were "that close" to making it on his previous albums over the past decade.

The 5-minute, 44-second clip also features footage of Springsteen recording songs for the new album in the studio.

Springsteen is touring Australia with the E Street Band next month.
