Home owner escapes blazing inferno
UPDATE: Firefighters have been able to contain the flame at Hayden St, Dalby, after it went up in flames before 2am today.
The home owner, Chase Tasker, said he was woken by the working smoke alarms.
"I heard the smoke alarm going off and it woke me," Mr Tasker said.
"I rolled out of bed and the house was already full of smoke.
"I went straight outside and called 000."
Senior Constable Matthew Minz was at the scene and said police had no reason to believe the fire was suspicious, but an investigation by the Dalby fire crew was still ongoing.
EARLIER: A Dalby home has erupted into a sea of flames this morning with the occupant of the house having to race outside to escape it.
Emergency services were called to a house on Hayden St, Dalby, just before 2am.
The occupant was sitting outside, visibly shaken, as fire crews attempted to control the flame.
The fire appeared to already be in the ceiling as fire fighters began.
Neighbouring houses were being hosed down to try and stop the possibility of the fire spreading.
Neighbour of the house on fire, Brett Buckley, said the inferno grew quickly.
"I heard the sirens and then noticed they were coming closer," Mr Buckley said.
"Once I saw the flashing lights I knew it was very close.
"The house was already completely up in flames no more than two minutes after I heard the siren."
At this stage no one is reported injured, and fire fighters are trying to control the blaze.
Police and ambulance services are on the scene.
