Body located after three washed off sandbank

POLICE have located  the body of a man in the vicinity of North Stradbroke Island following an air and land search.

A search was carried out after three men were washed away from a sandbank near Amity Point at 6.55pm last night.

Two men were able to get safely to shore and raise the alarm.

A search took place throughout the night.

There is no further information available at this time.
