Surf lifesavers recover man's body off Woolgoolga Headland

THERE'S been another tragic death in the waters off Woolgoolga.

Shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday emergency crews responded to a call a body was seen floating face down in water off Woolgoolga Headland.

Two members of the Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club made their way from the clubhouse to the northern side of the headland in an Inflatable Rescue Boat and recovered the 57-year-old man's body.

The body was then taken to the rocks before being moved to a waiting ambulance at the headland car park.

At this stage the identity of the man or the exact circumstances are unknown.

A post mortem is being carried out at Coffs Harbour Hospital to establish the cause of death, however it is being treated as non-suspicious.
