BEYONCE loves motherhood more than anything and can't imagine her life without her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

The Love on Top singer - who gave birth to her little girl 13 months ago with her rapper husband Jay-Z - admitted that none of her other achievements compare to motherhood.

She told Oprah's Next Chapter on Saturday : "It's what I'm most proud of and it just made everything make sense to me. I couldn't imagine my life if I did not have my daughter."

The 31-year-old star also credited her daughter for helping her to reveal more of herself in her new HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream, explaining that the movie had been in the works for more than three years.

She said: "My story did not feel complete and I didn't know why but ... after I gave birth I looked at my diaries and everything made sense.

"There are so many connections in the film that I didn't realise until I gave birth. Everything just completely connected and I said now know who I am ... I wasn't complete before my daughter."

Beyonce also opened up about her daughter's personality and hinted that Blue is the boss in their house already.

She said: "It's so much joy and I have my best friend. She is hilarious and she is fire. I didn't expect her to be fire but lord I'm a have me a time. She's beautiful."

In the new documentary Beyonce admitted a miscarriage was the "saddest thing" she has ever experienced, but explained: "My life is a journey. ... I had to go through my miscarriage, I believe I had to go through owning my company and managing myself ... ultimately your independence comes from knowing who you are and you being happy with yourself."
