BHP Billiton donates $1m to Red Cross Flood Appeal

MINING powerhouse BHP Billiton has donated $1 million to the Red Cross Queensland Flood Appeal matching the State Government's own contribution.

BHP chief executive Marius Kloppers said he hoped the funds would help with the state's eventual recovery from ex-cyclone Oswald.

"BHP Billiton has a long and proud history in Queensland and we are committed to supporting communities where we operate," Mr Kloppers.
