Bentley's arts bonanza

With the winter sun at last banishing the rains, it's an ideal time to get out to the country and visit Bentley - just in time for its 28th annual art prize.

This weekend, Friday, August 3 to Sunday, 5 at the Bentley Public Hall (midway between Lismore and Kyogle), over $8500 in prizemoney will go to entries from as far afield as Brisbane, Tamworth and Sydney.

Friday night will have a viewing with wine and cheese.

The official opening is on Saturday at 1pm, followed by the presentation of prizes in a country fair atmosphere.

On the Sunday things will, if possible, get even more relaxed, with live entertainment going till 3pm, when everyone will have a rest and a nice cup of tea.
