THE Great Eastern Fly-In kicks-off this week and celebrates its 21st birthday.

The unique Australian aviation event begins on Friday and goes through until Sunday at Evans Head Aerodrome, where pilots, and their families and friends will fly in from all over Australia to come together and enjoy this great weekend!

The young and the old come each year to marvel at the latest in aircraft, air displays, and have the ride of their lives, said Great Eastern Fly-In president, Gai Taylor.

She said that this year's Fly-In was set to be one of the best ever.

"It's a milestone for us, we've got some wonderful aeroplanes coming, the weathers looking fantastic - It looks like it's all coming together for a really good weekend," she said.

The Great Eastern Fly-In is a community event for all aviators and the general public, with plenty of opportunities to view aircraft and talk to pilots.

There will also be a chance to see some fantastic Classic Cars, with Vintage, Veteran, WWII Military vehicles and more on display.

Free event for spectators.
