Colin Barnett proves more popoular choice for WA's top spot

THE conservative Western Australian government is ahead of Labor 58-42, in the two-party preferred stakes, in the lead-up to that State's election, a Newspoll showed on Monday.

Taken for The Australian, the poll showed Premier Colin Barnett was seen by 43% of those surveyed as a better premier than Opposition Leader Mark McGowan

The Newspoll also found if an election was held today, 43% of voters surveyed said they would vote Liberal, the same number as the July-September survey last year.
