Ballina on board climate action
Ballina will be taking part in the largest day of global action ever. The 350 Climate Fair will be one of more than 3500 events taking place in 160 countries to urge world leaders to take action on global warming in the lead up to the Copenhagen summit. 350 parts per million of CO2 is the safe upper limit for the atmosphere according to the latest scientific data.
The Ballina event will feature a keynote speech from Professor Rodger Tomlinson, Director Griffith Centre for Coastal Management, on the impact of climate change on coastal communities.
There will also be stalls and music from Monkey and The Fish. It all kicks off at 10am at the Missingham Park amphitheatre on Saturday October 24. People are encouraged to bring a picnic and be there for a live webcam formation at 12pm.
