'Bag of ice' allegedly taken into school by Year 8 pupil

POLICE will investigate reports a Year 8 Bellarine Secondary College student brought a bag of the deadly drug ice to school last week.

The Geelong Advertiser understands students at the school were asked by the Year 8 boy to hold the drug when teachers became suspicious on July 20.

Principal Alison Murphy yesterday said the incident was reported to police.

"We do not tolerate drugs at this school. When we became aware of this allegation we took it very seriously and moved quickly to deal with it," Ms Murphy said.

The Department of Education would not say how the student, who allegedly brought the bag of ice to the school's Ocean Grove campus, had been disciplined.
