'Baby rescued from meth lab'

A BABY has been rescued from Sydney home after allegedly being exposed to toxic chemicals being cooked for a drug supply chain.

On Thursday morning, the 12-month-old was found in a home where police allegedly discovered an active meth lab, more than 1kg of "ice" and several harmful chemicals.

The raid followed an investigation by the Asian Crime Squad into the importation, manufacture and supply of illegal drugs in western Sydney.

Police immediately notified DOCS.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the home while two other men, aged 46 and 56, were arrested in their car on the Hume Hwy.

At the same time, detectives raided a home at Ryde.

Inside they allegedly found more meth, glassware and chemicals.

The three men have been charged with commercial manufacture of prohibited drugs.

The youngest of the three was also charged with exposing a child to manufacture of prohibited drugs.
