Autumnal extravaganza of the arts
The Nimbin Autumn Arts Extravaganza is an annual cultural delight and will open this year in the Nimbin School of Arts (the town hall) this Saturday, March 27.
This exhibition will feature more than 300 artworks in a range of media including sculpture, painting, glass, furniture, felt, photography, collage, porcelain and mixed media.
This year the backstage room will be darkened to exhibit fluorescent perspex lamps and paintings, as well as a moving sculpture.
And being Nimbin, there’ll be live music performances daily at 11.30am with Renaissance, Middle Eastern and Celtic music.
The official opening is this Saturday, March 27, from 11am.
It’ll be loads of cultural fun, Nimbin-style, and you’ll be amazed at the creativity of those local people in the hills.
The Extravaganza is open daily from 10am-5pm until April 18.
