Aussie man dies after falling from hotel balcony in Thailand

AN AUSTRALIAN man fell to his death in Thailand on Valentine's Day, the Foreign Affairs Department confirmed on Friday.

Anthony J Scarrabelotti was believed to have been searching for his girlfriend when he fell from a sixth-story balcony at the Petchkasem Hotel in Surin.

He suffered severe blood loss and multiple injuries and died in hospital.

The department said consular assistance was being provided to Mr Scarrabelotti's family, who is believed to be from the NSW north coast.
