Aussie lawyer detained in Mongolia is home for Christmas

THE Australian lawyer detained in Mongolia for two months has been reunited with her family in time for Christmas.

Sarah Armstrong was stopped by Mongolian officials from boarding a flight to Hong Kong in early October amid allegations she may have witnessed money laundering linked to a mining chief who was under investigation for illegally handling exploratory licences.

News.com.au reported Ms Armstrong had been allowed to fly to Beijing on Christmas Eve and was enroute to Sydney Airport where she would fly to Tasmania to be with her family.
