Aussie label criticised for skinny models at fashion week

THE glamour of Sydney's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has continued to attract celebrities and socialites to front row seats but it's the weight of the women showcasing this season's latest looks that appears to be getting the most attention.

While some labels have been applauded for refusing to show models under size 8, iconic Australian designer's including Alex Perry have been criticised for allowing skeletal frames to parade their new collections.

The appearance of one model at the Perry show reportedly prompted Marie Claire editor Jackie Frank to phone the booking agent and voice her concerns.

She told the Daily Telegraph that when she saw the model's legs she "nearly died" and felt compelled to query the woman's health.
