Aussie hockey women hold on to draw with the Dutch

THE Hockeyroos made an impressive start to the Investec Challenge in Cape Town, South Africa, on Monday night.

The Aussie women drew 2-2 with the world No.1 and 2012 Olympic champions, the Netherlands, in the opening game of the four-nation tournament.

Casey Eastham opened the scoring for the sixth-ranked Aussies in the first-half before the Dutch equalised in the second period.

Georgia Nanscawen restored the Aussies lead before Kelly Jonker made it 2-2.

The Hockeyroos played South Africa, who hammered England 4-1 in their first game, overnight.
