SWANSEA City defender Angel Rangel was out on the streets last week giving food to homeless people as cold weather and snow struck the Welsh city.

But fans, who were full of praise for the Spaniard's actions, will be hoping he is not as charitable tomorrow when Swansea takes on Chelsea in the Capital One League Cup semi-final second leg at the Liberty Stadium.

Rangel said he and his wife Nikki gave sandwiches they had left over from a visit to a coffee shop to a drop-in centre after searching the streets for homeless people.

He said it was just a "little gesture" and was surprised, after tweeting to followers about his idea, how big the story had become.

Rangel said he was confident ahead of the clash with Swansea 2-0 up from the first leg at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago.

"It's a massive game," he told BBC Wales.

"It's one of the most important games in the history of Swansea City.

"It's an amazing thing that Swansea is in a semi-final. Swansea hasn't won many trophies, so to get to the final and bring happiness for the fans would be a fantastic feeling."
