Great new artists announced for Bluesfest 2013 line-up

AT A time when some say the festival market is flooded, Peter Noble says Bluesfest is at the top of the game.

"They're finding it hard to keep up with me," the festival director told The Northern Star.

"We've staked out the festival market we need and they know they're going to get the best acts in the world at Bluesfest."

And, without further ado, Mr Noble adds to the list with the second announcement for next year's Easter weekend event.

Jimmy Cliff, Joan Armatrading, Rodriguez, Robert Cray, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue are billed at the top of blues and roots- themed second announcement.

"You can't say that anyone is a bigger reggae star than Jimmy Cliff," Mr Noble said.

"He was a hit at Coachella this year.

"People like Jimmy Cliff just keep getting better."

Cliff has been in the business for 50 years and is a multi Grammy Award winner.

Another line-up will be announced within two weeks - with some legends of Australian music.

It's all killer, no filler at Bluesfest, Mr Noble said.

"We don't hire duds - every band is a great one."

Bluesfest will be held at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm March 28-April 1.
