Alternative Australian country

Jimmy Willing has organised an Australia Day beer garden event.
Jimmy Willing has organised an Australia Day beer garden event.

In what seems to be becoming a tradition, long tall storyteller Jimmy Willing will again present an all afternoon concert this Australia Day (Thursday, January 26, if you're historically challenged) in the beer garden of the Billinudgel Hotel.

Jimmy leads that wild bunch of country punks called The Real Gone Hick-Ups. With the help of The Hick-Ups, Jimmy has created a visionary form of country music that flows far outside the mainstream. As lovers of the history of rural folk culture The Hick-Ups are the perfect act to celebrate the day their long-lost convict ancestors were first abandoned on this distant shore.

The Billinudgel Hotel is a rambling old pub with a huge beer garden. It has a great restaurant and is family-friendly. So celebrate and relax to tunes of Bossy Big Heart, Ruthie-ma- Toothie, Circus The Singing Dog and The Real Gone Hick-Ups from 1pm till dusk.
