AC/DC bassist loses cancer battle

AUSTRALIAN bass player Neil Smith, a one-time member of AC/DC and Rose Tattoo, has lost his battle with cancer.

A statement on Smith's Facebook page has confirmed that he passed away early Sunday morning.

"Neil Smith passed away in the early hours of the morning, Sunday the 7th of April 2013.

"He was sleeping peacefully and surrounded by family," the statement said.

"Neil is now in peace and is no longer battling with cancer.
