Absolutely awesome dynamic Lamborghini Aventador duo

FOR this weeks blog, I will be writing about not one, but two brand-new 2013 Lamborghini Aventadors.

As you may have seen, the Nero Pegaso Aventador is a coupe and the Azzuro Thetis Aventador is actually a roadster model.

You can tell the difference between the two models with the roof, as the Roadster has a removable hardtop, and with the updated rear engine bonnet on the Roadster.

The Roadster model is equipped with a 6.5-litre, 48-valve mid-rear mounted 12-cylinder engine which can produce up to 515 kilowatts (691 horsepower) at 8250rpm and 687 Newton metres of torque (507 pound-feet of torque) at 5500rpm.

The metallic black Aventador coupe features the same 6.5-litre V12 as the Roadster, however instead of producing a "measly" 515 kilowatts, this one produces a whopping 567 kilowatts (760 horsepower).

This is thanks to a Caballo ECU upgrade and the Lamborghini exhaust upgrade which in total brings the power up by 52 kilowatts (69 horsepower).

To put this into perspective, the average human eye blinks within 300-400 milliseconds.

The Aventador Roadster can launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 3.0 seconds flat, whereas the 760 horsepower Aventador coupe will complete it in about 2.7 seconds, as fast as a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.

Both of these models will keep accelerating until they reach their top speed of over 350 kilometres per hour (217 miles per hour).

Like the previous generation Murcielago, the Aventador has three different driving modes, Strada, Sport and Corsa.

Strada is the "softest" mode available, as it has a lighter steering feel, the smoothest shifts available and is more suited for cruising around the city in the Automatic mode.

Sport basically increases everything a little bit, such as quicker (and more violent) shifts, a little bit heavier steering and it is more responsive.

Corsa, on the other hand, is set up for maximum performance, and you would only choose this mode when you really want to unleash the bull.

The steering is heavier for more driver feel, it has the quickest power transfer of all the modes, and also the fastest and most aggressive gearshift possible.

If you ever get the chance to experience a ride in an Aventador in Corsa mode, you better be prepared for the shifts or you will find your head whiplashed into the seat.

Currently, a base-model Aventador Coupe has a retail price of $754,600 plus on-roads and a base-model Aventador Roadster goes for $795,000 plus on roads.
