EARLIER: A woman is dead and two men are fighting for their lives in hospital following a harrowing single-vehicle rollover at Jondaryan yesterday morning.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators from Toowoomba yesterday combed the scene of the incident which claimed the life of a 30-year-old woman.

Two men remain in a serious condition after the vehicle with five people inside overturned near the intersection of Jondaryan- Evanslea Rd and West Prairie Rd about 4am.

Two other men were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, managed to find his way to a nearby landholder's homestead where he screamed for help.

The landholder, who did not wish to be named, said the man was dishevelled and appeared lost, unsure of where he was and desperate for help.

The farmer immediately contacted emergency services before loading up his car with blankets and taking the man back to the crash scene, about 400m from the house.

"We grabbed some blankets and stuff and just went straight down there," he said. "There were two men on the road.

"I don't know if they had been tossed out of the car or what.

"We didn't go near the car but stayed about 400 yards away and just tried to help but by the time we got there the ambulance was just down the road."

Forensic Crash Unit Senior Constable Jon Reid said the vehicle had been travelling back towards Jondaryan when it rolled.

He said the five people in the vehicle were not local to the Darling Downs region.

"I can confirm one person was deceased and two people are in a serious condition," he said.

"It appears they were heading back to Jondaryan."

He said investigators were working to identify the deceased woman's next of kin, and the families of the two men in hospital.

The severely damaged duel cab four-wheel drive ute had been cleared from area by 10.30am yesterday.

"The vehicle had a lot of damage to it," Snr Const. Reid said.
