A not-so-secret garden

The Friends of the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens had a very successful open day last Saturday – the first in a series of monthly open days – with around 50 people turning up for guided walks.

Organisers said the gardens were looking very lush and green after lots of summer rain and many visitors were surprised at the amount of progress the dedicated band of volunteers has made.

One of the newest features now in the pipeline is a specialty garden that will feature five terraces with a zig-zag walk through a threatened species garden.

The next open day is on Sunday, May 23. For more information, phone Margaret Smith on 0427 586 878.
