ENSEMBLE: On percussion, Amanda Falvey with the Lismore Symphony Orchestra DOUG EATON

MUSIC lovers are invited to participate in a musical adventure of Earth and beyond with the Lismore Symphony Orchestra this month.

Ben Van Kleef will be conducting the orchestra, offering music from a number of locations around the world and two popular film scores: Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End by Hans Zimmer and Adventures on Earth from the film ET, by John Williams.

Other cultural pieces include an excerpt from Pietro Mascagni's opera Cavalleria Rusticana, an Italian composition which has been performed 14,000 times in Italy alone.

Some Russian works will include March Slav by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and the uplifting Russian Sailor's Dance by Reinhold Moritzevich Gliere.

Australia's own Percy Grainger's works Irish Tune from County Derry and Shepherds' Hey will feature the orchestras' brass and wind sections.

At The Whitebrook Theatre, Y Block, Military Rd, at SCU, on Saturday, November 18 at 7.30pm and Sunday, November 19 at 2pm.
