Flying visit from Qatar to Lismore

Six Qatar Air Force trainees recently visited the Life Saver Rescue Helicopter in Lismore as part of their aviation training.

The airmen have almost completed a 12-month placement in Australia to prepare them for a career as helicopter aircrew with the Qatar Air Force.

Trainee Mansour Al Marri said when he and his colleagues returned to Qatar they would be operating helicopters which were similar to the Dauphin N2s used by Life Saver Rescue Helicopter.

In the last 12 months Mr Al Marri and the other trainees have been learning English and Al Marri said he has made “lots of Aussie friends”.
