Scene Briefs - Nov 12

Push is a rock covers band based on the North Coast. They’ve been rockin’ venues from Crescent Head to Brisbane and beyond for the past five years. Putting all their energy in playing hits from the 70s to today, they guarantee to get everybody on the dance floor when they play the Richmond Hotel in Lismore this Friday, November 13, from 9pm.

Byron’s Irish songwriter, Mick McHugh, has been shortlisted for the seventh time in 2009 – he’s the shortlist king – this time on an international level. He’s been presented with an Honour Award in the international songwriting contest, 100% Music Songwriting, for his song A Long Way From Home. The song tells the tale of his leaving Ireland to move to Australia. You can listen to the song online at www.myspace.com/mickmchugh. Mick will be playing this song, and others, at the Bangalow Hotel this Saturday, November 14, from 6.30pm.

Leigh Carriage’s dynamic vocals, her energy on the stage, and her hot band will have the Jazz-Bah at the Ballina Hotel swinging when the Leigh Carriage Quartet plays there this Saturday, November 14, from 6pm.
