Sarah Palin sued for misusing iconic September 11 photograph

FORMER United States Vice Presidential candidate and occasional television host Sarah Palin is being sued for misusing an iconic photograph taken on September 11.

CNN is reporting Ms Palin and her fundraising organisation face the claim for allegedly using the image with the words "We will never forget" on her Facebook page as a tribute last week.

The photograph shows three fire-fighters raising an American flag over the rubble of the World Trade Centre, taken in 2001.

CNN reports the photo's owner is using the court action to ask for compensation and bar Ms Palin's group from using the image again.
