Reports of Japanese ships ramming Sea Shepherd

THE conflict over whaling in the southern seas took an explosive turn, with claims a Japanese whaling vessel struck at least one of Sea Shepherd's protest ships on Sunday.

Reports emerged Sunday that said Japanese vessels had collided with the protest ships, in the latest escalation in operations in Ross Sea.
