Noelene and Yvana Bischoff are home at last
THE family of Noelene and Yvana Bischoff are relieved to have the bodies of the mother and daughter back home in Australia and hope they can discover the truth about their deaths.
The bodies of the Sunshine Coast women arrived in Australia yesterday.
Ms Bischoff, 54, and her 14-year-old daughter Yvana died in mysterious circumstances after falling ill while on holiday in Bali last week.
Their bodies arrived at Brisbane Airport early yesterday morning on a Virgin Australia flight.
Ms Bischoff's brother Malcolm Bischoff, from Golden Beach, said it was a great relief to have the pair home, however, he now wanted "the truth" about their deaths.
"We had a tremendous amount of help from a lot of people and they all deserve our gratitude," he told the Daily.
"Virgin have been phenomenal - they flew the bodies in for free - the authorities, the ground staff this morning, the police, our local member, even the media, have all been tremendous."
The pair's bodies were taken to the John Tonge Centre in Brisbane where autopsies and forensic examinations will be performed.
Queensland acting Attorney-General David Crisafulli said a full coronial inquiry would be conducted.
John Tonge Centre's senior director of forensic services Greg Shaw said that he anticipated the tests would take at least a week and he did not "expect a quick result".
The bodies were formally identified by a family member yesterday.
Mr Bischoff said his sister and niece would be buried at Gatton where the family originated.
"My Dad is buried there and it's what Mum wanted and it was generally the consensus of what should happen," he said.
