Horrow weekend for crashes on NSW roads

A SPATE of horror crashes on New South Wales roads have left at least five dead since Friday, when a Toyota four-wheel drive with eight people inside rolled in Griffith, about two hours north-west of Wagga Wagga.

Paramedics treated all eight at the scene on Friday morning, but two men died at the scene and a third perished on Saturday morning.

On Friday night, a 65-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after his bike came in contact with a car on Friday afternoon in East Maitland, near the Hunter Valley.

In another incident, an 18-year-old man from Canberra crashed his motorcycle while riding on the Princess Highway at Nelligen outside Batemans Bay.

He left the road, hit a barrier, was tossed from the bike and later died in hospital.

Each of the crashes are now being investigated by police.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
