Black and white the rage for the Melbourne Cup Derby Day

IT WAS a day for monochrome chic at the Melbourne Cup Derby Day, with the usual suspects of Australia's fashion elite popping up alongside surprising crowd favourites and international superstars.

Although many were likely dazzled by tall, dark, handsome new-kid-on-the-block Tim Robards following his stint on Channel 10's The Bachelor, another favoured lothario - Kadek Mahardika or Ketut from the Rhonda and Ketut advertising saga - was on hand to steal the limelight.

Of course, Myer billboard and business-building bombshell Jennifer Hawkins swanned about for the cameras, as did beach-babe and occasional reality TV star Lara Bingle.

International supermodel ring-ins Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford added a touch of haute couture credibility to proceedings but it is unclear why anyone would talk to them if they could get the inside scoop on Rhonda from Ketut.
