Dirt Modifieds are back on track

For those of you who have been waiting for the roar of a 600 horse power plus motor and the smell of methanol, your wait is over.

The V8 Dirt Modifieds are back for the season opening title The Silver Sash this Saturday, November 11, at Lismore Speedway, with racing starting at 6pm.

This season local engine builder Wes Suffolk from Wes Engines Lismore will be joining the line-up.

Wes has played a huge part behind the scenes of speedway for eight years and has worked on over 10 of the cars he will be out there racing against. Wes has instilled the speedway fever in his new wife Kristy and you can be sure she will have a big part in keeping the car running smoothly on race night.

Also keep an eye out for the Modifieds other newcomer, Trent Martin, the dark horse in car 61.

Meanwhile, two other local boys, former Australian Number 1 Mark Robinson and Rian Collier, are gearing up for the Summer Slam series. The Lismore round of the series will be on January 26 and 27.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
