Idea Musica comes North

Musica Viva Lismore is a group of dedicated volunteers that provides fine music to the people of the North Coast much cheaper that such acts would cost to see in the city.

Next Wednesday, November 15, Musica Viva presents The Idea of North (pictured) a vocal quartet described by trumpeter James Morrison as the best a cappella group in the country.

The Idea of North won the 2003 Harmony Sweepstakes the largest international open a cappella competition in the world.

This ensembles performances are cheeky, captivating and witty they have a healthy sense of performance fun and are anchored by the skillful musicianship of the four singers.

The repertoire ranges from cabaret through to jazz, big band to pop, plus a cappella classics arrangements of Sting, the Bee Gees and James Taylor as well as traditional gospel and blues.

The Idea of North will perform at St Marys Anglican Church in Ballina next Wednesday, November 15, from 7.30pm.

Tickets are $32/28/16 and available from the ABC Centre in Ballina (6686 2436) and at Dymocks in Lismore (6622 4987). Or at the door if theres any left.
