River of fun

The Rivafest in Ballina (so-called because Ballina is on a riva) will provide heaps of family entertainment this Friday to Sunday, November 10-12.

Theres Circus Rivafest with performances each day. Tickets are $15/12/10 and $40 for a family.

Theres the mouth-watering Cuisine at the Casbah under a marquee on the riverbank this Saturday. Moroccan food will combine beautifully with the exotic music of Raz Bin Sam and the Lion I band. The spices of North Africa will be complemented by boutique wines from the Watson Wine Group. (Watch your liva.)

Tickets are $50 and include food and entertainment.

The Masquerade Opera is a public event at Fawcett Park this Sunday from 7.45pm, preceding the fireworks scheduled at 8.30pm. The opera includes selections from The Pirates of Penzance, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Phantom of the Opera. Wear a mask.

Theres lots more too power boat racing, laughter yoga (I dont know either) and guided heritage trails.
