Con fundraiser raises $3000

Over 100 people attended the Northern Rivers Conservatoriums silent auction in Byron last Wednesday and bidding, even though silent, was spirited.

More than $3000 was raised and the Con would like to thank all the local businesses who donated goods and services.

Organisers said particular thanks must go to Milton Cater of the Rug Shop at Bangalow, who donated a superb Afghan rug which was raffled. The raffle was won by Neville Maloney of Byron Bay Camping and Disposals, who is best known for organising Tents for Pakistan. This saw more than 1000 tents sent to victims of the devastating Pakistan earthquake in 2005.

The Con would also like to extend special thanks to the students and staff who worked tirelessly to ensure the evening was a triumph.
