2007 Lismore Electorate Woman of the Year

Nominations are now open for the 2007 Lismore Electorate Woman of the Year awards. The awards recognise the achievements and leadership of women in business and their local community.

As previous winners have shown, there are many women in our local community whose contributions, successes and achievements encourage and inspire those around them. Honouring women for their contribution to our communities is an important way of building the confidence and pride of all women, and encourages other women and girls by publicly presenting role models.

All nominees will be invited to a presentation function to announce the Lismore Electorate Woman of the Year, who will also be presented with an engraved silver goblet. An invitation will also be extended to the winner to attend the Premiers Reception where the NSW Woman of the Year will be announced.

Nominations forms are available from my office. Nominations close on Wednesday, November 22.

Rehabilitation unit

I appreciate the support I have received from the community regarding the rehabilitation unit. The outcome local representatives and mayors have been trying to achieve in regard to this issue is the delivery of rightly deserved and greatly needed health services for regional residents. Please be assured I will continue to pursue this issue until an appropriate outcome is achieved.

Premiers Gala Concert

I have limited tickets available for the Premiers Gala Christmas Concert to be held on Wednesday, December 6, at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. There are two sessions, one at 10.30am and another at 2.30pm. Anyone interested should contact my office as soon as possible.
